We have started

Yesterday evening we went to mass at our parish.  St. Jerome.  Father Jan gave us a blessing and we got the first stamp in our pilgrim's credential.  God willing the next stamp will be from the shrine of our Lady of Fatima.

Then, remembering that in previous pilgrimages I had problems loading photos into the blog, I decided to test.  The result is that the app still does not work.  The app reviews have lots of complaints on this issue but Google just has not fixed it.

Blogger works fine in my computer but I am only going to have my phone.

The easiest thing for me to do is to write here and post the pictures in Facebook.

Only three more days and we are off.

    Gil, the other option would be to create a facebook group, like I did this time around. That way you can do your blogging (writing) with the photos at the same time.

    You invite the people you want in the group, or announce the location on your regular profile so people can find it and at some point make it private.

    Just an idea.

    So excited you are going. I will follow you whatever form you keep us posted. Bom Caminho and Ultreia!

This time I was not going to blog but several friend keep asking: where is your blog?  So I am going to try. This would be our (Wonder Woman and me) 4th Camino, this is our history, starting when I was only 70 years old: 1) 2013  Camino Frances; starting in Sarria with Marly Camino.  De Luxe trip, de luxe accomodations, great places to eat, tours around the Camino,and a support bus to start the walk in Sarria  walk only 100km.  When they took us to O'Cebreiro and we saw pilgrims, I mean real pilgrims arriving, I wanted to be one of them. 2) 2014 Camino Frances: starting in Roncesvalles. Day 17 - To Casa Fernanda in Lugar de Corgo

Walked today: 13.8 km No of steps: 17,863 steps Total walked: 246.1 km We took a taxi to the outskirts of Barcelos, we wanted a short day and I'm still avoiding steep hills. It is very different walking in town, like in Braga, than walking on roads and trails with a 10 kg backpack.  But we did fine.  The day started a bit cool but within half an hour I was sweating and ready to take off my fleece.  Very soon the temperature started to rise and very soon felt like the 30 C that is the high for today. We had some highway with no shoulders, cobblestones roads and dirt trails.  After a couple of hours we went by a modern church that was open, it was our opportunity to pray the rosary so we took it. It took us Abit over 4 hours to get to Lugar de Corgo and Casa Fernanda.  We went in a did not see anyone so we went ahead and sat in the shade. Day 8 - To Alvaiazere

Walked today: 17.2 km No of steps:. 22,151 steps Total walked: 95.2 km Talking to other pilgrims last night I hear the saying they had walked 25, 30 or more kilometres.  So far we are walking just over 10 km. I am tired, my legs hurt, my feet are sore.  I had a one hour nap and I am still tired.  Good news, my knee is a bit sore, but the swelling is down and it is working reasonably well.  More good news; Wonder Woman is still very patient when the old man slows down or asks for time out. We got up in the dark and had a quick breakfast of tea and toast.  Daniel, Carlos' son was waiting for us to take us back some 10 clics do we could walk them back. He left us still in the dark and surrounded by a very heavy fog.  He told us to be very careful because we had to walk on the road and when he saw us get out florescent safety vests he said, I'm glad, very good. We had to walk on that road for 3 or 4 km, that's over an hour for us and we did see a few cars go by very fast.
